This Privacy Policy explains what information Ananta Chant ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here and in our Terms & Conditions.

Information We Collect

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos (beyond one you explicitly choose as a background image, which stays on your device), microphone audio recordings (voice counting processes audio to detect speech but does not store or transmit audio recordings), or any health/medical information.

How Data Is Stored

Your chant counts, streaks, reminders, and app settings are stored locally on your device. If you're signed in (Guest or Google), a limited subset — your display name, and your lifetime chant totals per mantra — is also stored in our cloud database (Google Firebase/Firestore) so that global leaderboards, groups, and prayer requests can work. Anything you post publicly within the app (a group name, a prayer request, your leaderboard rank) is visible to other signed-in users of the app by design.

90-day inactivity deletion: if you don't open or sign in to the app for 90 consecutive days, we automatically and permanently delete this cloud-stored data (the same data removed by the in-app "Delete my account" action) — including if you stop using the app because you uninstalled it. Opening the app and signing in at any point before that 90-day mark resets the countdown, so normal use is never affected. Data stored only on your device (chant counts, streaks, reminders) is never touched by this and is unaffected either way. See Account & Data Deletion for the full details.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Your Choices

You can use the app fully as a Guest without providing any personal information.
You can sign out at any time from the app's menu.
You can delete a prayer request or leave a group you've joined from within the app.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my account, or by email — see our Account & Data Deletion page for details.
Your cloud-stored data is also deleted automatically if you go 90 consecutive days without opening or signing in to the app — see the note above and our Account & Data Deletion page.
Where required by applicable law (e.g. GDPR in the EU/UK), you'll be shown a consent prompt regarding ad personalization, and can adjust your choice there.

Children's Privacy

Ananta Chant is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
